What’s your idea of a perfect Sunday? Usually, people use this day to unwind after a hectic week, take the time out to do something for themselves, finish all pending chores and tasks, and get some me-time!
Sometimes, Sunday can also be strange. Mainly, it is the weekend, so you just want to savor it to the maximum, but there is also the lingering fear of Monday when you have to go back to the office. While it is good to relax and unwind, there are many productive ways in which you can spend your Sunday.
And being productive doesn’t mean you have to do anything work-related. It simply means doing things for yourself or doing things that’ll make the coming week smooth for you. And when you do, you’ll find that as soon as your alarm clock sets off on Monday morning, you’ll be refreshed, and prepared to face the week.
Start your day by decluttering and cleaning your house
You must remember Marie Kondo’s show on Netflix ‘Tidying Up with Marie Kondo’ where she showed us the method – “Keep only those things that speak to the heart and discard items that no longer spark joy.” You can follow a similar method and declutter your desk, shelves, and your cupboard.
What to do?
It feels incredible to place things in their respective places and to find them there the following week when you need them. It also helps you move around the house and clear your thoughts without disruptions. A clutter-free house will bring you clear and positive thoughts. Make sure you clean the most used spaces like the kitchen and bathroom.
Figure out your grocery requirement and prep for meals
Figuring out your grocery requirement and prepping meals for the week will make your life easy. Trust me. I don’t know about you, but I have cravings and I make it a point to fulfill them within a week. By doing all of your grocery shopping and meal planning beforehand, you will end up saving ample money and time!
What to do?
Make a grocery list of all the ingredients you will need according to the dishes you want to eat each day. Prepare the meals and freeze the ones that are for later. So all you have to do during the week is defrost, and pack your lunch.
Secret: Plan for healthy meals that are nutritional and filling. This way you’ll avoid impulsive unhealthy eating.
Plan your week – Make a List
Plan your week by making a To-Do List of tasks, events, appointments, and reminders. Take time and chart for the whole week. Whether it’s organizing meetings, conference calls, scheduling deadlines for projects, or any personal matters like meeting up with friends, you will get a good start in advance on your whole week’s agenda. By doing this, you will ensure you tackle the most important issue and concentrate on it and never miss a thing!

Make it #Self-careSunday
Deadlines, meetings, schedules – it takes a toll on your physical and mental health. While all the above things are important to help you be productive on a Sunday, you also need to take some time out to unwind, clear your head, and just relax. Spend quality time with yourself, like maintaining a skincare routine, think you’re in a spa and massage your hands and feet, do a manicure-pedicure, read a book, cook your favorite meal for yourself – there’s a lot to do!
What to do?
Take a warm bath while you put on a facemask and a hair mask, and sip on a glass of wine and watch Bridgerton on Netflix or The Bachelor on Hulu.
Keeping one’s life in order is vital. Our week is almost by definition full of expectations, events, stress, and under these circumstances it is all but difficult to achieve things that are fully within our control. One way of fighting for that stability is to use our Sundays to regain energy and familiarize our mind and the body for the hurdles that lie ahead.
